Police have shot and killed a dog in Christchurch after it attacked a person seriously injuring them.
Police were called to an incident on Truman Road in Bryndwyr just before 6PM last night.
The dog attacked a person leaving them with serious injuries.
A St John spokesman said they responded with one ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.
One person was transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
