Police are investigating a serious assault after a woman was found critically injured at Richmond Village Green on Stanmore Road this morning.

Emergency services were called to the park around 9:20am, where the woman was discovered with severe injuries. She was transported to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

A scene examination is underway as detectives work to establish what happened.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Simmons said police are seeking information from the public to assist with their inquiries.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have information that would help us determine what happened,” Simmons said.
