Richmond Community Garden and Avebury House Spring Fair

Richmond Community Garden and Avebury House are hosting a Spring Fair this Saturday from 10am – 2pm. On the Richmond Community Garden side there will be car boot sales, buskers, the Repair Revolution, the RCG Little Shop with produce preserves, food stalls and more.

At Avebury House there will be an open day as part of the Christchurch Heritage Festival, with an exhibition about Avebury House’s history. There will be classic Devonshire Tea and the fabulous Avebury Vintage Market on the front lawn. Head down to Avebury House, 9 Eveleyn Couzins Avenue, Richmond to take part. This weekend’s your last chance to get involved in the Heritage Festival – check out all things trains, tractors and aeroplanes at the Extravaganza on Sunday, and see inside the historically significant Pavitt Cottage in Robinsons Bay on Monday.

Orton Bradley Park Spring Fair

Can’t make it to the fair on Saturday? Come along to the Ordon Bradley Park Spring Fair on Sunday – a fantastic day out for the whole family! The park is looking its best with the rhododendrons in full flower, so you’re invited to shop for Christmas gifts, picnic in the playground, and check out the walking and biking tracks.

There will be music throughout the day, old machinery demonstrations and the opportunity to explore the Heritage Centre and see the animals. Enjoy food, coffee, wine, arts and crafts, history, plants, bouncy castles and more. The Fair will be on from 10am – 4pm, free for children and $10 gate sales for adults.

Ride Lincoln

Join SPOKES on a family-friendly ride around Lincoln on Saturday morning and get to know your way around your local community by bike. Come along for a gentle one-hour ride suitable for families and seasoned riders to share their favourite routes.

Meet outside Lincoln Pantry, 4 Eastfield Drive, to kick off at 9:30am. This is a great chance to meet new people, so bring your friends and family – the most the merrier! Find more information about this Biketober event here.

Memory Map of Learning

Do you remember learning something new as a child? Join us to share where and when these spaces for learning occurred on Tūranga’s Memory Map of learning. The Memory Map of Learning is a collective record of childhood learning experiences across the city and beyond that is made by all and anyone during the Heritage Festival.

Come along to Tūranga on Saturday by sharing your childhood learning memories through writing, drawing or collage on a collaborative map. Drop into the library from 10:30am – 2:30pm, no bookings required.
