A truck fire has closed a main Christchurch road this morning.

State Highway 74 or Anzac Drive has been closed off while fire crews attend to the blaze.

NZTA said Anzac Drive is currently closed between Travis Road and New Brighton Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
