Police have confirmed the death of a three-year-old child who was struck by a vehicle in a residential driveway in Gore on New Year’s Day.
The incident occurred at 6:30pm, with the child being rushed to Gore Hospital, where they sadly died a short time later.
Police said they are treating the death as not suspicious following thorough investigations, including work at the scene with the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR).
Enquiries were continue on behalf of the Coroner to understand the circumstances of the tragedy.
“Our thoughts are with the child’s family at this incredibly difficult time,” police said.
