Three people have been taken to Christchurch Hospital following a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in Sockburn.

A police spokesperson told ChrisLynchMedia.com police were alerted to the crash on Blenheim Road, near Watts Road, about 10am.

A St John spokesperson said two ambulances and a rapid response unit responded after being notified at 9.57am.

Ambulance crews treated and transported three patients to Christchurch Hospital. One was in a serious condition and two were in a moderate condition.

Contractors were called to tow the vehicle blocking the road and clean the road.
