St Thomas of Canterbury College is warning parents to remind their children to be vigilant outside school gates following an incident on Friday afternoon.
In a letter sent to parents by Principal Steve Hart, the school said they received advice a student was approached by a vehicle unknown to him.
This happened after school outside the retirement village by Middlepark Road.
A police spokesperson confirmed a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle on Middlepark Road was received at 3.16pm Friday afternoon, and said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
“Ther young student was understandably shaken but unharmed, the school said in the letter seen by Chris Lynch Media.
“We will have an increased presence of staff before and after school next week.
“We ask parents to have conversations with your sons over the weekend to remind them to be vigilant if approached by strangers.
“As a school, we will be speaking to students on Monday.”
