Internet watchdog Netsafe is urging the public to report illegal online content related to the Christchurch terror attacks.

on March 15th, 2019, 51 people were killed and 49 injured at two Christchurch mosques when an Australian gunman opened fire during Friday prayers.

People have already been charged, after Chief Censor David Shanks made it illegal to watch the terror attack footage, by classifying it as “objectionable.”

Netsafe released a short statement on Twitter on Friday saying it had received reports of new content related to the attacks circulating online.

It is working to have the content removed.

Netsafe is strongly urging people not to share or view it, and to report it at http://netsafe.org.nz/report if they come across it.

If you see material of this nature online, report it immediately to Netsafe and the following social media companies.
