Two incidents involving stolen vehicles were reported to Christchurch Police within hours of each other.

At about 7.20pm on Tuesday 25 June, Police responded to a panic alarm at a bottle store on Inwoods Road.

A man reportedly entered the store acting suspiciously but left without taking anything.

There were no threats made and no injuries reported.

He left the area in a stolen vehicle, which has since been recovered. Police said the vehicle is undergoing forensic examination and enquiries are ongoing.

In a separate incident at about 3.15am, Police were called to a commercial burglary in progress at a supermarket on Skyhawk Road in Wigram.

Police said they received live updates, allowing officers to respond quickly and reach the right locations.

The alleged offenders had used a vehicle believed to be stolen. Two people were arrested while trying to flee the premises on foot.

Further enquiries are underway.
