Three cows have been put down after a stock truck rolled over on Beach Road in Elgin this evening.
Up to ten more cows are unaccounted for in the surrounding area.
The crash happened between Milton Road South and Cochrane Road, with emergency services called to the scene at around 6.40pm.
One lane of the road remains blocked.
Two people have been injured. One has moderate injuries and the other sustained minor injuries.
A police spokesperson urged motorists to take extra care when travelling near the site.
“We’re asking drivers to delay their journey or take an alternative route while we work to clear the scene,” the spokesperson said. “With livestock still unaccounted for, there is a real hazard for anyone coming through the area, so please slow down and stay alert.”
Motorists are advised to avoid the stretch of Beach Road between Milton Road South and Cochrane Road until further notice.
