State Highway 75 has been closed near Motukarara following a fire this afternoon.

NZTA said the closure is in place near the intersection of Millers Road and took effect at 12.44pm on Sunday.

Road users were advised to delay their journey or use an alternative route, with the closure expected to remain in place until further notice.

Motorists were urged to follow official instructions and check for updates before travelling.
