One person has died following a collision on State Highway One in Marlborough.

Police were alerted to the single-vehicle crash just after 6pm.

The sole-occupant died at the scene.

The road remains closed while a scene examination takes place.

Invercargill crash

Meanwhile, Emergency services were called to serious crash on Queens Drive in Invercargill. 

The crash involving a vehicle and a cyclist was reported around 5pm. 

Police earlier said one person sustained serious injuries.
