A man has suffered serious injuries after being seriously assaulted in Christchurch last night.
A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch police responded to reports of a serious assault at a park on Stanmore Road at 7:35pm.
A 31 year old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 20 year old man was charged with intent to injure and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court on 24 February.
