A person has been critically injured during an “incident” in central Christchurch, prompting a large police presence.
A police spokesman said they were notified of an incident on Montreal Street at 12.20PM.
A St John spokesman said they responded with an ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.
A patient was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition.
Chris Lynch Media understands a person fell from a building, but police wouldn’t confirm the circumstances.
Motorists reported a large police presence near the mixed commercial residential building Cowlishaw Mews, next to Fiddlesticks restaurant.
Enquiries into the matter were ongoing, the police spokesman said.
