Emergency services are at the scene of a a two-vehicle crash on Old West Coast Road, near Pitts Road, Darfield.

A police spokesman told chrislynchmedia.com they responded around 11am.

 Two people are reported to be in a critical condition.

 The Serious Crash Unit has been advised, the police spokesman said.

 The road is blocked, and diversions are being put in place.

Police ask motorists to take an alternate route.
