Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash in Bishopdale.

A police spokesman said they received a report of a vehicle collision on Farrington Ave at 3.30pm this afternoon.

A car has hit a power pole and several other vehicles.

A St John spokesperson said two ambulances and two Rapid Response Units responded to the scene.

St John treated one patient in a critical condition and transported them to Christchurch Hospital.
