Police have recovered a second body following a single vehicle crash at the Rangitata Diversion Race near Methven.

Emergency services were called to a canal off Pudding Hill Road shortly after 1am on Saturday.

The Police National Dive Squad was deployed to assist in the search this morning.

The driver’s body was located approximately 500 metres downstream from the crash site. 

Police recovered the body of the passenger yesterday.

Police say enquiries are underway to identify next of kin.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
