A power outage has affected 1,324 properties across several eastern Christchurch suburbs including Aranui, Avondale, Avonside, Burwood, Travis Country, Wainoni and Westhaven.

According to Orion’s website the company has given an estimated restoration time of 11.38pm.

Power was cut at 9:36 pm, and has affected some mobile networks.

The cause of the fault was ‘under investigation.’
