Christchurch police have executed search warrants in Northcote and Pegasus in relation to the death of Tyrone Munns.

Senior Sergeant Damon Wells of Canterbury Police said Tyrone died on 9 March 2025, and a 29-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with murder.

Police are now speaking with a number of people following the warrants carried out this morning.

“As this is an ongoing investigation and before the courts, police are unable to comment further at this stage,” Wells said.

He said police want to assure the community there is no risk to the public.
