A man has been arrested after disembarking a Jetstar flight in Christchurch overnight.

A passenger told Chris Lynch Media the man appeared nervous throughout the flight from Wellington.

Six police officers arrested him as soon as he stepped off the plane just after 11pm.

A police spokeswoman said the arrest related to an earlier family harm incident.
