A person has been seriously injured at commercial premises in Woolston.
A police spokesperson said emergency services were alerted to the incident on Maunsell Street at about 12.30pm.
Maunsell Street has been blocked off at both ends.
A worker was injured from a chemical spill.
Multiple Fire and Emergency appliances were still at the scene at 6pm.
Emergency tape has been used to cordon off the corner of Maunsell Street, near Garlands Road.
Police were not required to attend the scene.
Traffic trucks have blocked off Maunsell Street off Cumnor Terrace.
A St John Ambulance took one person to hospital.
Work Safe NZ has been approached for comment.
