A person has died following a crash in Christchurch early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the single vehicle crash on Summit Road at 1.25am on Tuesday.
One person died and one person was critically injured a police spokesman said.
St John sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an operations manager to the scene, and helicopter to the scene.
One patient in a serious condition was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital.
Fire and Emergency crews from Sumner, Woolston and Christchurch City stations attended the scene.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are under way, the police spokesman said.
