A person has been arrested following an alleged assault in Christchurch’s central city on Wednesday.

A police spokesperson said they responded to reports of two people acting in a disorderly manner on the intersection of Colombo Street and Lichfield Street around 11:45am.

A person was assaulted, however there were no reported injuries the spokesperson said.

One person was taken into custody and charges are being considered.

Enquiries are ongoing.
