One person has been arrested following a failed robbery outside the Hornby Hub mall.

A police spokeswoman said police were notified of an incident on Main South Road in Hornby at around 9:20 am.

A person was approached outside an ATM at The Hub Hornby by someone who attempted to rob them.

“Members of the public are reported to have intervened before the offender was able to take anything from the victim.”

The victim was not injured in the incident.

The police spokeswoman said one person was taken into custody.
