New Zealand First is calling for a select committee inquiry into vaccine injuries linked to the mandated double-dose COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The party says the inquiry would examine the potential impacts on what it describes as hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders who may have been affected by vaccine-related injuries.

In a statement, New Zealand First said the recent COVID-19 Inquiry report did not go far enough in examining vaccine safety, including the risks involved and who may have been affected.

The party also raised concerns about advice relating to vaccine risks for 12 to 17-year-olds, claiming the report indicated some information about potential risks associated with double-dose mandates for that age group was not shared publicly.
New Zealand First said if advice was provided to ministers but not disclosed to the public, questions remain about decision-making and accountability during the pandemic response.
The party said a select committee inquiry would allow people who believe they were injured by the vaccine to give evidence and help determine the scale of any health impacts, including conditions such as myocarditis, while also examining public trust in the health system.
