A motorcyclist has died after crashing his bike in Christchurch on Thursday.

The crash on Highsted Road was reported to emergency services at 6.50pm.

A police spokesperson saidthe motorcyclist was transported to hospital in a critical condition and passed away Friday.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
