A 33-year-old man has been arrested following an aggravated robbery in New Brighton residential property last week.
Police were called to a report of an aggravated robbery on Jutland Street about 11.15pm last Monday.
Two people forced their way into the house and demanded money from the occupant.
A police spokeswoman said the man has been charged with aggravated robbery and appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday.
He has been remanded in custody to reappear on 20 September.
She said a youth has been referred to Youth Aid in relation to this incident.
