Cost estimates for Christchurch’s most contentious cycleway, Wings to Wheels has skyrocketed to up to $35 million.

The Christchurch City Council has already spent $5.4 million.

Harewood Councillor Aaron Keown said the majority of locals don’t want the project.

He told Chris Lynch with the Government pulling out of local funding, the rate-payer will have to pay for more than expected.
