A group of kayakers has been rescued after getting into difficulty off the Kaikoura coastline this afternoon.
Police said they were notified at 2.35pm that several kayakers needed assistance in an area known as Shark’s Tooth.
A spokesperson said Coastguard responded and by 3.35pm the kayakers had been safely uplifted.
“They were reported to be very cold after being in the water for some time, but appear to be okay apart from that,” the spokesperson said.
No injuries have been reported.
