“I’m okay, but didn’t expect a car smashing into the house. I was just watching a movie in the dining area when the car smashed into the house. I thought it was a earthquake.”

A local resident said the vehicle left the road, drove through St Paul’s Lutheran Church carpark, through an hedge, and smashed through a window, breaking through part of the house wall.

John said there were three people in the car, “and luckily no one was injured.”

He said police questioned them.

“I hear there was a break failure and I think the driver had a medical emergency and the passenger grabbed the steering wheel.”

A police spokeswoman said police are speaking with those involved to determine the circumstances of the crash.

At this stage, charges have not been laid.
