Fire and Emergency crews have been called to a house fire in Riccarton this afternoon.

A spokesman said a house is on fire on Kauri Street.

Three fire appliances are at the scene.

It’s understood an outside rubbish fire could have spread to the house.

Smoke can be seen across Christchurch city.

Police have also been called to the scene.
