The Hornby community is inviting residents to celebrate Matariki at a special Fun Day event this Saturday 21 June, from 11am to 2pm at South Hornby School on Amyes Road.
The event, organised by the Greater Hornby Residents’ Association (GHRA), promises a lively afternoon featuring cultural performances by local schools, a variety of craft market stalls, and a free poi making activity.
All indoor activities will take place in the school hall, and weather permitting, bouncy castles will be set up outside for the kids.
There will also be food vendors, coffee, and plenty more for families to enjoy.
Organisers say it’s a great chance for the community to come together, learn about Matariki, and have fun. Everyone is welcome to attend.
