Emergency services remain at the scene of a house fire in the Christchurch suburb of Hoon Hay.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand Shift Manager Alex Norris said they were called to the blaze at around 11:16AM on Monday.
The fire was at a property on O’Leary Street, a resident said.
“We received multiple calls stating a house was on fire,” Norris said.
Two fire trucks were initially dispatched. “When crews arrived, they found the house was fully involved in fire, and a third fire truck was sent to assist.”
There was nobody inside the property at the time. Fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze and remained on site to check for hotspots.
As of just before 1PM, two crews were still at the scene.
There was no threat to neighbouring properties and no injuries were reported.
