Emergency services are responding to a serious crash in Templeton.

A Police spokeswoman said Newtons Road is closed following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Newtons Road and Dawsons Road this afternoon.

Initial reports indicate there are serious injuries.

It is understood the crash involves a truck and two cars.

A St John Spokesperson said “we responded with two ambulances, one first response unit and one operations manager.

One patient, in a moderate condition, was transported to Christchurch Hospital.

Police were expected to release more details soon.

The road is closed while emergency services attend the scene.

Motorists are advised to follow diversions and expect delays.
