A motorist has spoken out after witnessing what he described as ‘reckless’ driver behaviour moments before a serious crash near Dunsandel.

Four people were injured, one seriously, following a three vehicle crash just north of the township on State Highway one just before 8PM.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the intersection with Selwyn Lake Road.

A police spokesperson said one person suffered serious injuries, two others were moderately injured, and another person received minor injuries.

A motorist told chrislynchmedia.com  “My son and I were travelling north on that road and saw the aftermath of the crash before police got there,” he said.

He said  “The red car came speeding past us about 5 minutes or so earlier, there was a silver car with it,” he said.

“They were driving like idiots, way too quick and overtaking with way too much speed.”

The motorist said he had been travelling at about 95 when the vehicles overtook him and estimated they were travelling at around 120.

“It was shocking to see it was the one that crashed,” he said.

“We were only saying when they passed us too, in those wet conditions driving like that was reckless.”

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.

No charges have been laid at this stage.
