A cyclist has escaped injury after a collision with a vehicle in Riccarton on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Harakeke Street around 1pm following reports of a crash between a car and a cyclist.

The road was temporarily blocked while emergency crews attended the scene.

A St John spokesperson said an ambulance was dispatched, but paramedics were stood down as their assistance was not required.
