A truck and car have collided in Rangiora.

A police spokeswoman said the crash happened on Oxford Road, between Lehmans Road and Plaskett Road shortly before 10am.

The truck overturned hitting power lines.

Mainpower said around 50 nearby homes were without power.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said one ambulance responded and is on scene treating two patients in a moderate condition.
