Christchurch has come alive for Super Round, with events stretching well beyond One New Zealand Stadium and into the heart of the city.
A free Live Site fan zone has been set up on The Terrace by ChristchurchNZ and Super Rugby Pacific, giving fans the chance to watch all five matches on a big screen, soak up the atmosphere, and meet players across the weekend without needing a ticket.
The Live Site, positioned on the banks of the Avon River just north of the Bridge of Remembrance, is expected to be a major draw for locals and visitors alike. All 10 Super Round teams will appear for signing sessions over the Anzac weekend, including the Crusaders.
Crusaders fans had the chance to meet players alongside the NSW Waratahs on Thursday afternoon, with further activity continuing into Friday evening and across the weekend.
A Fan Trail linking the central city to the stadium has also been established, running from the Bridge of Remembrance along City Mall and Cashel Street through to One New Zealand Stadium. The eight minute walk has been transformed into part of the event experience, with buskers, dancers and musicians performing from 2.5 hours before each kick off.
On Friday, entertainment along the Fan Trail is running from 5pm to 7pm, while the Live Site remains open from 3pm until 9.30pm.
Activity ramps up further over Saturday and Sunday, with the Live Site opening from midday on Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday, alongside more performances and player appearances.
Organisers are expecting around 13,500 visitors to Christchurch over the long weekend and are urging people to plan ahead. Fans are being encouraged to allow extra travel time and aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before kick off.
