A Christchurch player has woken up a millionaire this morning after their ticket, bought at New World Ilam, won Lotto first division in last night’s draw.

The lucky shopper takes home $1 million.

Canterbury also featured in the second division, with one of nine winning tickets sold in the region.

Each is worth $36,330, with the remaining tickets sold in Auckland, Hamilton, Pāpāmoa, Rotorua, Carterton and Porirua.

Elsewhere, a Strike player in Auckland won $400,000 with a ticket bought at New World Ormiston.

For anyone in Christchurch dreaming of an even bigger payday, Powerball rolled over last night and will be $25 million on Saturday.
