Chemist Warehouse in Westfield Riccarton has been forced to close its doors this morning, following a ram raid overnight.

A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com police were called around 12.40am with a report of a burglary at a store.

She said the offenders used a stolen vehicle to force through the front door of the store, and stole a number of items from inside before fleeing in a second vehicle.

The offenders have yet to be located and police are making enquiries she said.

Chris Lynch Media understands they targeted fine fragrances.

When our cameras arrived at the scene staff were still cleaning up the mess and were sticking up notices saying the store would be closed for some time.

The notice said for scripts, please ask one of our staff members and kindly wait outside.
