Emergency services are at the scene of two-vehicle crash in Woolston where a car has gone into the river.

A police spokesman told Chris Lynch Media they were called to Radley Street after 1pm.

One of the vehicles is in the Healhcote River, but it appears the driver made it out of the vehicle, the police spokesman said.

St John spokeswoman said they responded with one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.

Two patients were assessed and one was transported to Christchurch Hospital in a moderate condition.
