Emergency services were called to a crash in Avonside on Saturday night after a vehicle struck a power pole.

Police and St John responded to the incident, in Dunarnan Street, which is understood to be linked to a domestic dispute.

Power to part of the street has been cut while contractors worked to repair the damaged pole.

The vehicle was moved several properties away from the crash site to allow repair crews to restore power, which is expected to take several hours.

At this stage, it is unclear whether anyone was injured or if the driver was taken into custody.
