Four people have been seriously injured in a boating incident on the Waimakariri River.
A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch they were notified of a boating incident at Waimakariri at around 3:12pm this afternoon.
Three people have been flown to hospital with serious injuries.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said two helicopters responded and airlifted one patient in a serious condition to Greymouth Hospital
Three other patients were flown to Christchurch Hospital; one in serious condition, one in moderate condition and one in a minor condition.
