There are 13 locations of interest in Christchurch following the confirmation of two COVID-19 positive cases in the city.

A woman in her 50s and her partner in his 40s, from the same household, have COVID-19.

One of them visited a takeaway store when they should have been self-isolating.

COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins told Chris Lynch “people who are sick and waiting for their COVID-19 tests, should be isolating, until they’ve had the result of their tests, and if they’re sick, the overall message, regardless of whether someone has COVID-19 or something else is, generally, do the right thing, and stay home because then you’re not passing on whatever it is that you’ve got to someone else.”

Hipkins said he believed the risk at supermarkets was low, given their size and airflow.
