Firefighters are battling a large blaze in Christchurch this evening.
Emergency services received a call just before 5pm to reports of two buildings on fire at what’s been described as the old Wigram primary school site on Springs Road.
A Fire and Emergency Shift manager told Chris Lynch four fire appliances are at the scene along with a command unit.

Four firefighters are wearing breathing gear, but the fire is only being attacked externally at the stage.
She says when appliances arrived, both buildings were well ablaze.
