Emergency services were called to a car fire in Christchurch’s Eastern Suburbs last night.

Multiple residents along the street looked on as firefighters battled to extinguish the blaze.

Police were notified of a car fire near the intersection of Dunair Drive and New Brighton Road, Burwood at about 9.25pm.

A police spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media there are no reports of injuries.

Enquiries to determine the circumstances of the fire are underway.
