Emergency services remain at the scene of a crash involving multiple cars.

A police spokeswoman says they were alerted to the crash at 8AM on the Southern motorway.

Two St John ambulances are at the scene, and at least four people have suffered minor injuries.

An eyewitness says at least four cars were involved.

It happened on the Lincoln Road overpass.

Traffic delays are significant with traffic heading west coming to a complete standstill with a delay of over 40 minutes.

Meanwhile emergency services earlier responded to a  two-car crash at the intersection of Curletts Road and Blenheim Road, in Sockburn.

A police spokesman says one person sustained moderate injuries and a second person minor injuries.

Traffic going North on Curletts was blocked, however the road has now been cleared.
