Multiple police cars have cordoned off a block in central Christchurch.

Manchester Street, Nearly Bealey Avenue has been blocked off and Colombo Street is also blocked off.

Armed police appear to be stationed along Manchester Street.

Police officers are also outside the Bealey pharmacy.

A police spokeswoman said “police are making enquiries in the area in relation to a wanted offender – at this stage for operational reasons we’re not able to add more detail.”
