There’s a heavy police presence across Christchurch today because of a “gang event.”

Senior Sergeant Michael Jones said police were monitoring and actively policing the movements of the Comanchero gang in Christchurch for their event today.

“Police have a visible presence in the Woolston area and are working to ensure there is no illegal activity on the roads.

No incidents of note have been reported at this time.”
