A man has been taken into custody after he reportedly presented what was first thought to be a firearm on Yaldhurst Road, Upper Riccarton.
A police spokesman said the incident happened around 11:30am, no one was injured.
The man who was on active warrants to arrest was apprehended, and charges are being considered following today’s incident.
A cigarette lighter in the shape of a firearm has been seized the police spokesman said.
